    Finally, we arrived at the Martinez Hotel, and what a people! Around 50 photographers were stationed outside, eagerly awaiting the next star to grace the red carpet. The energy was electric, and I felt like a part of something truly special. I hurriedly changed and greeted my guests, ready to dive into the festival’s activities.

    Our first stop was La Plage of Nespresso for lunch, located on the famous boulevard of Cannes. The brand activation was impressive, and the location was simply stunning.     As I work in the coffee industry and as a personal coffee lover, one of the things that always fascinates me is how each cup of coffee can have its own distinct aroma, depending on where the beans were grown. It’s like taking a sensory trip around the world with every sip you take. Today, we will go on a journey to discover how the different regions—Africa, South America, India, and Indonesia—leave their unique mark on the aromas of our favorite drink.

    Africa: The Birthplace of Coffee Aromatics

    Africa, the birthplace of coffee, offers a wide range of aromatic profiles. Ethiopian coffee, known for its fruity and floral notes, is a true delight to the senses. The high-altitude regions of Ethiopia, such as Yirgacheffe and Sidamo, produce beans with vibrant flavors of berries, citrus, and jasmine, giving your coffee a bright and lively aroma.

    Moving to Kenya, we encounter coffee with a bold and complex aroma, often described as winey or blackcurrant-like. Kenyan coffee beans, grown at high elevations under the shade of trees, develop intense acidity and a full-bodied aroma that is unmistakably African.

    South America: Rich and Balanced Aromas

    South America, home to some of the world’s largest coffee-producing countries, offers a diverse range of aromas influenced by its varied climates and landscapes. Colombian coffee, renowned for its well-balanced flavor profile, with hints of caramel, chocolate, and nuts. The volcanic soils of Colombia contribute to the coffee’s smooth and mellow aroma, making it a favorite among many coffee enthusiasts.

    Brazilian coffee, on the other hand, presents a more earthy and nutty aroma, with notes of cocoa and spices, perfect for those who enjoy a bold cup of coffee to kickstart their day.

    India: Spicy and Exotic Aromas

    India, with its unique coffee-growing regions, brings a touch of spice and exoticism to the world of coffee aromas. Indian coffee, particularly from the regions of Karnataka and Kerala, offers a distinctive aroma characterized by hints of spice, herbs, and tropical fruits. The unique processing methods, such as wet-hulling, contribute to the coffee’s distinctive aroma, making it a favorite among those who appreciate a bold and intense cup of coffee.

    As I reflect on my coffee journey, I’m reminded of the incredible diversity of aromas that each region brings to the table. Whether it’s the fruity brightness of African coffee, the rich balance of South American coffee, the spicy allure of Indian coffee, or the earthy depth of Indonesian coffee, there’s a world of aromas waiting to be explored in every cup.     As my partner and I are on an very exciting journey of new homeownership, we find ourselves immersed in the world of interior design, exploring various styles to make our new house feel like home. After much research and deliberation, we’ve stumbled upon a design trend that caught our interest: Japandi.

    Japandi, a fusion of Japanese and Scandinavian design principles, is gaining popularity for its minimalist yet cozy aesthetic. With its emphasis on clean lines, natural materials, and serene spaces, Japandi offers a perfect blend of functionality and simplicity that I think will resonates with us.

    As we delve deeper into the world of Japandi design, we’re discovering the key elements that define this style and how we can incorporate them into our home.

    Minimalism: One of the core principles of Japandi design is minimalism, which focuses on decluttering and simplifying spaces. We’re embracing this concept by opting for sleek furniture pieces with clean lines and minimal ornamentation.     How to make the best Espresso martini, simply at home

    It’s Friday, so time for a delicious and easy cocktail recipe. Indulge in the perfect blend of coffee and cocktails with this Espresso Martini recipe! Whether you’re a coffee aficionado or a cocktail enthusiast, in this blog post, we’ll guide you through crafting the ultimate Espresso Martini at home. Get ready to shake and achieve that rich, velvety texture and irresistible flavor.

    Ingredients

    • 5 ml Vanilla Syrup
    • 30 ml Vodka
    • 60 g ice cubes
    • 1 teaspoon cacao
    • 1 Nespresso Ristretto capsule
    • decoration of choice
    • Shaker
    • Spoon
    • Martini Glass

    Instructions

    Extract the Ristretto (40ml) Nespresso capsule in a cup over one ice cube and let it cool.

    Pour in the shaker 30ml of vodka, then add 5 ml of Vanilla syrup and 40 ml of the cooled Ristretto. Then add 4 bigger ice cubes and “Shake vigorously for approx. 10 seconds.

    Pour everything without the ice cubes in a Martini Glass (filter with an ice strainer).
